1 Day

UYUNI · SALAR DE UYUNI - Private Excursion · Full Day

Important note
This itinerary operates during the rainy season, and rainfall may require adjustments since some areas become inaccessible and routes are defined by local authorities. However, this season also offers the chance to witness the largest natural mirror effect on Earth, creating the most moving and breathtaking landscapes in the region.

Day 01 :
Uyuni – Salar de Uyuni – Full Day

Departure from the city of Uyuni around 9:30 a.m., beginning a day dedicated to discovering one of the most extraordinary landscapes on the planet.

Our first stop is the Train Cemetery, an iconic site where old locomotives rest—trains that, since the late 19th century, once crossed the Bolivian Altiplano and marked the beginning of the region’s railway history.

We then continue to the village of Colchani, a native community traditionally devoted to artisanal salt production. Here, you’ll learn about the traditional process of making iodized salt and have the opportunity to see local handicrafts made from salt blocks.

Next, we enter the breathtaking Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat in the world. During the tour we will visit:

  • The Eyes of the Salt Flat (natural saltwater springs)
  • Salt extraction areas

The journey continues to the Flag Plaza, home to Uyuni’s first Salt Hotel, now converted into a museum—an emblem of the salt flat’s ingenuity and identity.

In the late afternoon, we head to the best spot on the salt flat to experience one of the most unforgettable moments of the trip: sunset. This experience is paired with a charcuterie-style board featuring Bolivian cold cuts and cheeses, a selected bottle of Bolivian wine, and non-alcoholic hot beverages, all in a truly magical setting.

Return to Uyuni after sunset.
